Distant Places, Desperate Times (Psalm 120)
Verse 1
My home is in the borderlands
Encircled by the culture's lies
Deceitful tongues weave narratives
Distorting truth, destroying lives
Distressed and troubled, I called to the Lord
And he answered my plea
When faced with malice, threats and danger
Lord, you have answered me
Verse 2
Such desolate experience
Among vindictive, hostile men
They shout for war, I long for peace
For wholeness in my life again
Distressed and troubled, I called to the Lord
And he answered my plea
When faced with malice, threats and danger
Lord, you have answered me
Verse 3
So journeying as pilgrims here
We do not settle, fight, or flee
But trust God justly to avenge
And walk by faith until we see
From distant places, in desperate times
Our Lord will bring us home
Ascending to the heav'nly city
Worshipping 'round His throne
Distant Places, Desperate Times (Psalm 120)
