You Love Me God

I wrote this song a few years ago when I was learning about my identity in Christ as well as at the time, really feeling like I was struggling to hear from Him. I wanted to convey a message of it doesn't matter what's happening around us, that God is for us and He loves us in and through our circumstances.

This song was written out of a desire to honour God with our praise and worship but, not in a big loud way, which is unusual for me because I love songs that are big and loud and have a driving beat, but in a more reverent and thoughtful way. I tried to be as careful and thoughtful with the lyrics as I could whilst also maintaining a rhyming scheme and a singable melody.

This song was written out of one of the 12 song challenge themes in early 2023. It's based on Matthew 11:28-30 where Jesus is calling people to Him who are wary and heavy laden so they might have rest in Him.
